JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant LOCATION: Edmonton, AB
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and outstanding individual with strong professional skills to join a fast-growing and dynamic team. In this role you will be responsible for accounting and analytical functions to support business monitoring as well as the management decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Receivables
· Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and on time
· Record and apply customer payments
· Prepare monthly AR reports, aging schedules, and collection forecasts
· Oversee dealer floorplan and retail financing programs with lending partners
Accounts Payable
· Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper authorization
· Record invoices and expenses in the accounting system
· Maintain accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation
· Monitor accounts payable aging and ensure timely payments
· Process employee expense reports in accordance with company policy
Reporting
· Performing account reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger.
· Complete month-end, year-end closing work in accordance with relevant closing schedule
· Prepare management reports in accordance with group reporting requirements
· Prepare analytical reports for periodic business performance review
· Cashflow forecasting
Other
· Provide timely and accurate information for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulations, and financial standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or an MBA are highly preferred.
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in treasury, credit control, or a similar role, with preference given to candidates with experience in the heavy equipment industry or a related field.
· Proficiency in ERP systems, with experience in SAP or Treasury Workstations considered a significant advantage.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, financial teams, and external partners.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
