This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of mining business development in Canada. As the sole dedicated mining sales professional in the country, you’ll play a pivotal role in building our presence, forging relationships, and driving growth from the ground up.
🔍 About the Role
As Business Development Manager – Mining, you’ll be responsible for developing the market and driving full-cycle sales for XCMG’s mining equipment (surface and underground). From prospecting to closing deals, this role demands initiative, industry knowledge, and the ability to work independently across diverse customer groups.
💼 Key Responsibilities
🌍 Market Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the Canadian mining sector.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline by engaging with mine operators, contractors, and procurement teams.
- Own the sales process end-to-end—from initial outreach to deal closure.
🛠 Strategic Sales Support
- Work cross-functionally to ensure product offerings align with Canadian mining standards and customer needs.
- Help shape local sales strategies and develop targeted engagement plans.
- Provide feedback from the field to support product positioning and strategic direction.
📊 Commercial Insight & Coordination
- Collaborate with regional leadership to help define growth goals and inform forecasting.
- Support pricing strategy and market analysis to ensure competitive positioning.
🤝 Customer & Industry Engagement
- Attend industry events, customer meetings, and conferences to represent XCMG and strengthen brand presence.
- Cultivate lasting customer relationships and act as a trusted resource in the mining community.
✅ What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in business development or sales within the mining industry (OEM experience preferred).
- Strong connections within Canadian surface and/or underground mining operations.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive results without direct oversight.
- Technical understanding of mining equipment and operational conditions in Canada.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a proactive, go-getter mindset.
